Past Continuous Tense का प्रयोग ऐसे कामों के लिए किया जाता है जो भूतकाल में किसी निश्चित समय पर जारी थे, यानी कोई action Past के किसी समय पर चल रहा था।

हिंदी में Past Continuous Tense के वाक्यों में सामान्यतः रहा था, रही थी, रहे थे जैसे शब्द मिलते हैं।

केवल "रहा था / रही थी / रहे थे" देखकर ही Tense तय नहीं करना चाहिए। Sentence का context और यह देखना जरूरी है कि Past में action किसी समय चल रहा था।
