Modal Verbs (Can, Could, Will, Would) — Rules aur Examples (Hindi mein Samjhein)

1. Modal Verb ke baad Verb hamesha Base Form (V1) mein aata hai, to nahi lagta.

Sahi: He can swim. (NOT: He can to swim.)

2. Modal Verb khud kabhi nahi badalta (He, She, It ke saath bhi s nahi lagta).

Sahi: She can sing. (NOT: She cans sing.)

1. Present mein Ability ke liye

Example: I can swim. (Main tair sakta hoon.)

2. Informal Permission maangne ke liye

Example: Can I use your pen? (Kya main tumhara pen use kar sakta hoon?)

3. General Possibility ke liye

Example: Anyone can make mistakes. (Koi bhi galti kar sakta hai.)

1. Past mein Ability ke liye

Example: I could swim when I was five. (Jab main paanch saal ka tha, tab main tair sakta tha.)

2. Polite/Formal Request ke liye

Example: Could you help me, please? (Kya aap meri madad kar sakte hain?)

3. Kam pakki Possibility ke liye

Example: It could rain today. (Aaj baarish ho sakti hai.)

1. Future Action ke liye

Example: I will go to school tomorrow. (Main kal school jaunga.)

2. Promise ke liye

Example: I will help you. (Main tumhari madad karunga.)

3. Willingness/Decision ke liye

Example: I will open the window. (Main khidki khol dunga.)

1. Past Habit ke liye

Example: When I was a child, I would play in the park every evening. (Jab main bachcha tha, main roz shaam ko park mein khelta tha.)

2. Polite Request ke liye

Example: Would you please close the door? (Kya aap darwaza band kar denge?)

3. Hypothetical/Conditional situation ke liye

Example: If I had money, I would buy a car. (Agar mere paas paise hote, to main gaadi khareedta.)

Can -> Could: Present ability se Past ability, ya zyada vinamra request banane ke liye.

Will -> Would: Present/Future se Past habit, ya zyada vinamra request/hypothetical banane ke liye.

Yaad Rakho: Could aur Would, Can aur Will ke Past Form bhi hain, aur inse zyada polite sentence bhi banta hai - context se pata chalta hai kaunsa arth hai.

May/Might - Formal Permission ya Possibility ke liye (May I come in?)

Must - Majboori/Strong Necessity ke liye (You must wear a helmet.)

Shall/Should - Suggestion/Advice ke liye (You should sleep early.)

Galat: He can plays football.

Sahi: He can play football. (Modal ke baad Base Form, s nahi)

Galat: She cans sing well.

Sahi: She can sing well. (Modal khud kabhi nahi badalta)

Galat: I will to help you.

Sahi: I will help you. (Modal ke baad to nahi lagta)

Q2. Can aur Could mein kya farak hai?
