Kabaddi - Hindi Translation

A kabaddi match is held in Jagatpur village every Saturday.
Hindi Anuvad: Jagatpur gaon mein har shanivaar kabaddi ka match aayojit hota hai.

A crowd has gathered outside Manik Kaka's house. He is the Gram Pradhan of the village.
Hindi Anuvad: Manik Kaka ke ghar ke baahar logon ki bheed jama ho gayi hai. Ve gaon ke Gram Pradhan hain.

Meena who lives in the city has come to Jagatpur to meet her cousin, Ravi.
Hindi Anuvad: Meena, jo shahar mein rahti hai, apne chachere bhai Ravi se milne Jagatpur aayi hai.

Ravi takes her to the place where the match is going to be played.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi use us jagah le jaata hai jahan match khela jaane wala hai.

Meena: What's going on here?
Hindi Anuvad: Meena: Yahan kya ho raha hai?

Ravi: A kabaddi match is going to be played here between the team of our village and the team of the neighbouring village Jasra.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Yahan hamare gaon ki team aur padosi gaon Jasra ki team ke beech kabaddi ka match khela jaane wala hai.

Meena: Wow! It would be interesting.
Hindi Anuvad: Meena: Wah! Yah rochak hoga.

Ravi: Oh yes!
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Oh haan!

Meena: Have you ever played kabaddi?

Ravi: Yes, this is my favourite game.

Hindi Anuvad: Meena: Mujhe is khel ke baare mein aur batao. Kabaddi mein kitne khiladi khelte hain?

Ravi: Kabaddi is a game of two teams having seven players each.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Kabaddi do teamon ka khel hai aur pratyek team mein saat khiladi hote hain.

Ravi: One team becomes the raider and the other team the defender. They compete with each other and maintain the team spirit.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Ek team raider aur doosri team defender banti hai. Ve ek-doosre se muqaabla karte hain aur team spirit banaaye rakhte hain.

Meena: Look! The teams have arrived.
Hindi Anuvad: Meena: Dekho! Teamein aa gayi hain.

Ravi: Each team is on its own half of the court. The game is about to begin.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Pratyek team court ke apne-apne aadhe hisse mein hai. Khel shuru hone wala hai.

Meena: Which one is Jagatpur's team?
Hindi Anuvad: Meena: Jagatpur ki team kaun-si hai?

Ravi: Our team is on the right half of the court.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Hamari team court ke daayen aadhe hisse mein hai.

Meena: What is he chanting?
Hindi Anuvad: Meena: Vah kya bol raha hai?

Ravi: He is the raider. Holding his breath he is chanting 'Kabaddi', 'Kabaddi', 'Kabaddi',...

Ravi: He will get no point. If the defending team catches him, he will be out.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Use koi ank nahin milega. Yadi defending team use pakad leti hai, to vah out ho jaayega.

Meena: When will this game be over?
Hindi Anuvad: Meena: Yah khel kab samaapt hoga?

Ravi: It will be played for 40 minutes with a break of five minutes between two halves.
Hindi Anuvad: Ravi: Yah khel 40 minute tak khela jaayega aur dono halves ke beech paanch minute ka break hoga.
