The Old Kaki - Hindi Translation / Summary
Kaki बहुत बूढ़ी थीं और उनके हाथ-पैर कमजोर थे। उनके पति की बहुत पहले मृत्यु हो चुकी थी। वह अपने भतीजे Buddhiram के साथ रहती थीं और अपनी सारी property उसे दे चुकी थीं। Buddhiram की पत्नी का नाम Rupa और बेटी का नाम Ladli था।
Buddhiram के बेटे Kaki को परेशान करते थे, लेकिन Ladli उनसे बहुत प्यार करती थी।
एक दिन Buddhiram के बड़े बेटे की engagement थी। घर में celebration हो रहा था और कढ़ाई में गरमा-गरम purees बन रही थीं। उनकी खुशबू से Kaki को बहुत craving हुई और वह धीरे-धीरे कढ़ाई के पास पहुँच गईं। Rupa ने उन्हें देखकर गुस्से में डाँटा और कमरे में वापस भेज दिया। Kaki को बहुत insult महसूस हुआ।
रात में सभी मेहमान खाना खा रहे थे, लेकिन किसी ने Kaki को खाने के लिए नहीं बुलाया। जब वह courtyard में पहुँचीं तो एक guest ने उन्हें देखकर आपत्ति जताई। Buddhiram गुस्से में आया और Kaki को पकड़कर कमरे में वापस घसीट ले गया।
रात के करीब ग्यारह बजे Ladli अपनी बची हुई puris लेकर Kaki के पास गई। Kaki ने puris खा लीं, लेकिन फिर भी भूखी थीं। उन्होंने Ladli से और खाना माँगा। Ladli उन्हें उस जगह ले गई जहाँ guests खाना खा रहे थे। Kaki ने वहाँ बचा हुआ खाना खाना शुरू कर दिया।
Rupa ने यह दृश्य देखा। उसे बहुत दुख हुआ और उसे एहसास हुआ कि feast वाले दिन भी Kaki भूखी रह गई थीं। Rupa की आँखों में आँसू आ गए। वह खाना लेकर Kaki के कमरे में गई और अपनी गलती के लिए माफी माँगी। Kaki ने उसे माफ कर दिया और उसे आशीर्वाद दिया।
